We had a terrific day trip up to Teewah national park recently. As the photos show the flight along the coast at 500 feet was great fun. Just wish I could have set down on the beach and had a swim !! The round trip for the Karatoo was just on four hours. Lots of different scenery for this boy from the bush !! Where to next time guys and girls ??

News Break :
Santa makes a surprise visit to "Raysfield" !! Ho ! Ho ! Ho !
Following an impromptu interview with the jolly white bearded old gent ( although somewhat slimmer than stories have led me to believe) it has been revealed that the more traditional reindeer and sleigh have been passed in for a somewhat higher performance RV - 6 called Harvey !! Seems the long hot distances encountered on the Australian run have been a bit to much for Rudolph and Co. Hence the upgrade !!
Anyhow after delivering a bundle of goodies and receiving a big kiss from Dianne. ( Perks of the job !! ) Santa was off again . So with a laugh and a smile he bid us goodnight !!
I always did believe in Santa .

The summer rains have been a blessing here at "Raysfield" with the sorghum and sunflower crops flourishing. Things should be looking great for Christmas. After all the planting and establishment work I am one very happy chappy !!

We had an interesting morning at the Lockyer Valley Aero Club Christmas get together recently. A good variety of aircraft in attendance and a friendly greeting made for a great visit !! Ross and I had to make a dash for home due to impending summer storms. Turned out to be the right decision with a good fall at "Raysfield".

One of the greatest honours a pilot can have is to introduce a youngster to his first flight. Here we see young Tristan on the occasion of his tenth birthday. Check out that grin . I think it say`s it all !! A special thanks to his Mum & Dad for organising the big event. Happy birthday mate !!

Early morning flying : The magic of flight. Cool smooth air with every flight being a new adventure. The world from above is a scene that simply cannot be appreciated from the ground. Once you have been there you will always long to return !!

Another great fly-in breakfast held at Raysfield !! A beautiful Sunday morning . Clear skies and smooth air. Ross was out early putting in a few circuits with the Drifter. What a way to start the day !! It was just wonderful to see " Hone`s Flying Circus " arrive overhead and land for a terrific social morning. This must surley be the heart of sport flying. Safe trip home guys and girls !!

An interesting visitor to our area recently was the Holden airship. These guys travel around Australia all year doing promotional flights. Tough job but someone has to do it !!

Some shots from Windy Wagga . A great day, but a real barnblower with cold 30 knot winds !!

We decided to attend the Sport Aircraft convention at Wagga this month and combined the trip with a visit to a good friend living at Henty. Here we see Rod and I with the Karatoo on arrival at Holbrook airpark. Flying time from Raysfield 8.5 hours !!

A terrific morning was had by all those that attended the Gatton Airpark breakfast on Sunday. A very special thanks to the folk from the Airpark for their wonderful hospitality and friendship. The south-east corner of Queensland is a great place to fly with so many destinations and social events to attend. All good fun !!

What`s going on here !? This shot captures an anonymous masked spray painter in the act of using Ross`s Drifter as a paint stand !! Seemed like a good idea at the time. Ross was wondering why his wing skins seemed a little pale !! Oh and please, don`t try this at home . ( Staged shot for Ross`s benefit !!)
John and Ross with the Drifter. Great friends share a morning at Raysfield !!
